How we relate with the outside world, how we get information, and feedback?.
There is a word that explains this phenomenon, it is call synergy. And, what is synergy?, synergy often refers to the phenomenon of two or more discrete influences or agents acting in common to create an effect which is greater than the sum of the effects each is able to create independenly.
What that has to do with us? We relate to the external world throughout our 5 senses, they are our link, they give us information and we give back response, with them we will create synergy with the outside, and when the information gets inside we create homeostasis.
What is homeostasis? Homeostasis is the property of an open system, specially living organisms, to regulate its internal environment to maintain a stable, constant condiction, by means of multiple dynamic equilibrium adjustments, controlled by interrelated regulation mechanisms. Put it simply, looking for balance.
As we can see synergy and homeostasis have the same purposes, balance and equilibrium.
Every system is looking for balance and when it is not, a red light switchs on telling us that an imbalance is in place.
We can see the imbalances around us, the state of our planet, our food, our air, our seas, our forests, etc...
We can feel the imblances in us, diseases, cancer, allergies, flu, diabletes, heart problems, etc...
We, the holistic practitioners we see the world around us and our feedback to it as one, when we see a client in our practice we don't see the sickness, we see an imbalance, a lost contact. Lost contact from person to the environment, lost contact from person to person, or a lost contact from person to its own body.
In the way that we percieve our world, we absorb it, and, accordingly, will be the way that is going to affect us.
Because it is imposible to be disconnected, we are going to get the effect, positively or negatively. Of course everything depend on us, we have the choice. Because nutrition is more than food, the same way that we nurture our body we nurture our mind; our thoughts are our food, our thoughts create emotions, emotions create chemicals in our brain, from our brain those chemicals are transported throughout our hormones to every place of our body causing, pleasure, damage, calm, etc...
We nurture our body with food, this same food has been nurtured; with the same quality that this food has been nurtured it will nurture us. A tomato, for example, all of them looks the same, is in it? From out side, of course. May be even they will taste the same, but the cruel reality is that NOT all the tomatoes are the same. How this tomato has been fed? How this tomato has been preserved? Tomatoes from a hot house are less damaged than regular tomatoes, but they have beed irradiated so they can last more time in the shelf; tomatoes in general have been fed whith chemicals and manipulated with human hormones and preserved with radiation. And so other kind of foods have been manipulated as well, for whatever reasons.
So, what we can do? Which are the strategies for better health? What we can do for ourselves before it is too late? Our medical systems can be good or bad, but...can we rely on putting our health on others hands, when those hands are tied with political or economical gains?
What we can do for ourselves?
First of all, we have to make wise choices, to make wise choices we have to educate ourselves; we have to learn to be critical. Balance your diet, I am not asking you TO DIET , to diet is to make temporary choices for a temporary fix. I am asking you to make permanent healthy choices, of course that you can indulge from time to time, but not to make it as your life style.
Buy organic products as much as you can, they are in harmony with the nature, they are healthy, and they provide health to us, they have not been manipulated, they are fed with healthy soil, and they are ecologically friendly.
Second, educate yourself, read reliable magazines, read levels, and the most important, lisen to your body, if there is some food that creates a negative reaction, like excess burping, nausea, vomit, skin rash, excess gas, it repeats for hours, it can be a sing that the food was not healthy or that you have an allergic reaction to it, in this case you have to be alert and consult an expert.
Third, care for your thoughts they are part of yourself as any organ in your body, enrich them positively with inside practices like Yoga, Tai-Chi, Chi-Gong, etc... Get to know yourself, learn to love yourself as your best friend, compliment yourself, and, never punish yourself, think that you still have your little child inside. Think that the quality of our minds leads directly to the quality of the world we make for ourselves.
Fourth, excercise regularly. Excercise besides keeps us fit, allows the blood to arrive to the smallest of the capillaires, bringing oxygen and nutrients to every cell. Excercise deveolps muscles that stick to our bones preventing calcium loss. Are the muscles that keeps us standing not the bones. Choose the excecise that goes with you and enjoy it.
Holistic nutritionist we are not doctors we do not cure sicknesses, we provide the tools, we give recommendations, dietary and/or supplementing, we give you a guide for well-being, for healthy quality of life.
Life change, it is a continuos succesion of unpredictable events, life is movement, life has stages, and every stage has different needs. The human baby grows fast, his cells multiply at tremendous speed, and this is the most important stage in our lives; according how we feed our babies, according with the quality of food they will recieve, they will grow, they will be prepared for all the aggresions to their immune system, we will give them weapons, we can give a pistol or a canon and according to their weapons they will fight and they will win or loose the battle.
We want our babies healthy, give them the right tools.
Nature is wise; it gives always a second, sometimes third opportunity, at any moment we can change, with more or less difficulties. The spirit of nature its always to repair itself. Your are part of nature, trust your instincts, lisen to yourself, to your body, and trust yourself.
When you will do that a window will be open.
And always remember: Nutrition is More than Food.
